Foada, 42 year old from Afri, is the mother of 7 girls and only 1 boy. She lives in an informal settlement next to a cement plant in the area of Tuz Kurmato where MSF runs a clinic every 2 weeks. Her last child is a 5 months old girl. “I was pregnant when we ran away. I gave birth in the hospital in Tuz and it was a complicated birth. My husband decided to call her Hajjer ‘the one that flees and won’t be back’ (the refugee). He gave her this name because when we left, we didn’t know what the future would bring”.
